Welcome to the Matsudo Church of Christ website. The Matsudo Church of Christ is a body of believers meeting in Matsudo, Japan near Kamihongo Station on the Shin-Keisei Line. We would love to have you join us as we worship our Heavenly Father, the risen Savior, and living Spirit.
Our Mission
At the Matsudo Church of Christ, our mission is twofold: to live faithfully and love abundantly. This means living faithfully before God, obeying him and seeking his will both in our church and in our individual lives. It also means loving him with all of our heart, soul, strength, and mind, and loving our neighbors as we love ourselves (Luke 10:27). If we pursue this kind of love both for God and for the people around us, we believe we will be the kind of church that pleases God.
A Brief History
The Matsudo Church of Christ was established in the 1960s, and has been a part of Matsudo’s Kamihongo community ever since. The congregation has had many ministers over the year, both Japanese and American, including ministers Watanabe and Shibamura, American missionary Steve Carrell and his late wife Debbie Carrell, and the present minister, Leslie Taylor with his wife Sara and their three children.
